e.sigma Tactical Command and Control Training System
e.sigma Tactical Command and Control Training Systems (e.TACCS™) enable large-scale tactical training for air, naval and land forces. It simulates operational scenarios based on a network of radar sensors and communication systems (data link, landline, radio). e.TACCS™ enables the simulation of tactical requirements for maintaining airspace security, national sovereignty and the coordination of offensive and defensive measures. This complex training system and its capabilities allow the design and execution of diverse mission areas and training scenarios. By networking personnel across the entire communication chain, transparent representation of command communications is achieved, from the highest command levels in combat down to the crews of vehicles in ground-based air defense. This allows complex operational situations to be simulated and holistic training to be conducted in the context of Multi-Domain Operations. The integration of live data streams (e.g. ASTERIX) enables immersive sim-over-live scenarios to be incorporated into training.
The Air Defense Command and Control Officer License Training System (ALVE FüLiz), based on e.TACCS™, is used in formal military course-based training. It realistically simulates the workstations of a command post and enables system-neutral and mission-oriented training of command and control staff officers. ALVE FüLiz enables a procedural representation of the factors of air warfare in all its manifestations. This includes both offensive and defensive options across various levels of escalation and intensity. Control of individual air targets or target groups that require trainee reactions is performed by “pseudo-pilots.”
The operating and display elements for trainees are adapted to operational procedures and the specific conditions of the participants. This includes both national and allied procedures as well as the respective equipment configuration of the participants (e.g. adjacent command posts, AWACS, Federal Police, FüZNatLv, cross-organizational participation). Training of command and control staff officers in this procedural trainer is conducted in accordance with the potential mission spectrum using freely programmable exercises, the progression of which is automatically recorded. The instructor controls the exercise and may interrupt or dynamically modify it at any time. The procedural trainer not only promotes fundamental skills in the field of Battle Management and Command and Control, but also supports individual and team-based advanced training to remedy individual weaknesses, strengthen team procedures and prepare and review exercises. ALVE FüLiz provides qualification as Master Controller and Weapons Controller.
By replicating command posts or vehicle interiors and integrating real components, the procedural trainer can be converted into a part-task trainer. This enables training according to the principle “Train-as-you-Fight.” Spatial constraints and the tactile perception of buttons and control elements help internalize procedures even under stress, allowing personnel to focus on what is essential in real operations.
